Burn gorman creepy6/19/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The Algonquins of Barriere Lake are among several First Nations in the region affected by wildfires in the province in recent days.Īccording to Indigenous Services Canada, the Lac Simon Anishnabe Nation was pre-emptively evacuated to Val d'Or on June 3, and as of June 5, approximately 750 people have returned to their community. Sept-Îles, Que., lifts evacuation order, thousands set to return home.Opitciwan evacuated, Manawan declares state of emergency due to forest fire concerns. But again, those people are very worried about their cabins because they live there year round." "We made sure that those people are evacuated. There are settlements in the territory that we are worried about," he said. While some live on-reserve in Rapid Lake, located in the middle of La Vérendrye wildlife reserve in Quebec's Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, 310 kilometres northwest of Montreal, several members live in traditional settlements along traplines north of the community. The Algonquins of Barriere Lake have a population of around 800 members. However, 20-25 firefighters and concerned community members remain behind to combat and monitor the fires, one of which is burning about 20 kilometres away from Rapid Lake. Members were evacuated from the region on Sunday due to heavy smoke. It's just a scary time for our community." ![]() "We're surrounded by fires in the north, east, west. "It's devastating at the moment because we don't know which way the fire will go today because of the winds," said Chief Casey Ratt. I really want to see more of Gorman in other films now, and it would be cool if he got cast as another Batman bad-guy sometime in the future. As wildfires continue to blaze in several regions of Quebec, members of the Algonquins of Barriere Lake are on the frontline protecting their territory. And he seems to have a much better idea about the actual context of Bane and Daggett's partnership from the get-go, and is very human in his last scenes. You never really fear for Selina against Daggett, since he seems to have no idea what he's doing, but Stryver seems just competent enough to make a dangerous antagonist for her. Styver, on the other hand, seemed calm, cool, and very subdued, almost the polar opposite of his boss. Daggett was an arrogant loud-mouth and the type of idiot who you know would get over his head. I also loved how much contrast there was in Stryver compared to his boss. The way he was played, as this boisterous jerk with a heart of even more jerk, and his over-the-top performance makes me think of a Gordon Gekko wannabe, and I liked that. ![]() The guy obviously counts as a powerful enemy in the usual sense of the crime drama thanks to his large resources, but is ill-prepared for any kind of physical confrontation, and is thus incredibly vulnerable once the plot-line shifts to the war movie genre. I really appreciated how clear it was that Daggett's entire persona, M.O., life goals, and overall philosophy was point blank greed and cash fetish. And Stryver just looks like he's thinking "Oh ****." And his death scene was disturbing, but also really funny lol.ĭaggett to Stryver: No stay here i'm in charge.īane (puts his hand on Dagget's shoulder): "Do you feel in charge?"īane: "And you think this gives you power over me?"īane cracks Daggett's neck (i'm guessing that's what he did) making him scream. And certainly also no challenge to Bruce/Batman other than bankrupting his money. And Daggett was played well by the actor, but pretty weak and annoying villain. And then him being forced onto the ice and falling into it was hilarious. He was so untrained it was embarrassing for the guy lol. He got his freaking ass wimped by Selina and did nothing to fight expect try to use his gun lol. Click to expand.Yeah but he wouldn't have a challenge to Batman at all. ![]()
